WAYNE LESLIE SEPHTON
December 24, 1948 - April 6, 2022
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Leslie Sephton. Wayne entered Langley Memorial Hospital on February 11 and passed away in the evening of April 6.
Wayne was born on December 24, 1948 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He grew up on the same North End avenue (Pritchard) as his one true love and lifelong partner, Fern Jean (nee Bjarnason), with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on November 4. A graduate of Sisler High School, Wayne became a well-respected skilled tradesperson and moved his family to the West Coast in 1975, eventually settling in Langley City in 1994. Wayne enjoyed sports, especially those which his sons and grandchildren were interested in and played, travelling with family, and singing, particularly in Langley's First Capital Chorus. Life was uncomplicated for Wayne. Put in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay, treat everyone fairly and compassionately regardless of who they were, always do the right thing, and take care of family. There was nothing and no one that he loved more than his wife and family.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Len and Dorothy Sephton (nee Breckon). He is survived by his wife Fern, sons, Shaun (Ikuko), and grandsons, Kai and Toma; son Troy (Lisa), granddaughter Telsa (Ryan), great-grandsons, Grayson and Lennox; and granddaughter Tianna; and brothers, Bryan (Monica) and Lyle, and sister Deborah.

I want to offer my condolences to you Fern and family. Growing up just down the street I have many fond memories of Wayne. Mostly I remember his wonderful smile and kindness. Time and years have separated us from those magical times growing up. Wayne was a solid kind friend and he obviously continued this character through out his life. I was blessed knowing him. - Posted by: Brenda (Byhre) Scarcella (Childhood friend ) on: May 31, 2022

I have fond memories of Wayne as a young boy. My Dad owned Grants food market on Pritchard and Railway and then Westwin Foods on Airlies and Wayne worked for him in the store and as a delivery driver. At that time the Millionaire Drive In existed and on Saturdays, I used to go and help Wayne do deliveries on the condition that we go to the drive in for a Trillion Burger and a Sno-Cap Root Beer. I always remembered Wayne as a kind and gentle person. I know that he was liked by my parents as well. I am sure he will be missed. - Posted by: Dave Grant (Old Family Friend) on: May 30, 2022

I was saddened to learn of Wayne’s passing. I had the pleasure of sharing many wonderful summer memories with the Sephton family where we had cottages next to each other. Reading the kind words said about Wayne were also true when we were kids. He was always so polite and well mannered. My sincere condolences to Fern on the loss of her husband of almost 55 years, their sons Shaun and Troy and their families as well as heartfelt sympathy to Bryan, Lyle and Deborah on the loss of their brother. Sincerely, Sandi Hall (nee Howard) - Posted by: Sandi Hall (nee Howard) (friend and former cottage neighbour) on: May 28, 2022
