EMILE LAURIN

After a brief battle with cancer, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts we share the passing of Emile.
He is survived by his loving and longtime friend Juliette Comeau and her daughters, Janet (Ken Nolin), Elaine (Bernie Reichardt) and their families. He also leaves his close cousin Claire Jeanson and his nieces and nephews, Guy Laurin, Charlotte Lambert, Evéline Delorme, Louise Boucher, Gérard Jeanson, Edouard Jeanson, Fernand Jeanson and Lionel Jeanson. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Agnès and all his siblings, Maria, Armand, Louis, Alma, Laurette and Lucille.
Emile grew up in Dufresne, MB and was the youngest of the family. After his brother Louis passed away, Emile left school at the tender age of 14 to help his father on the farm, but later went back to school and then attended University for one year. A job opportunity then presented itself for secretary-treasurer for the municipality of Taché in Lorette, MB where he worked for 34 years, until his retirement in 1993. As he had quite an interest in municipal affairs, this was the perfect job for him. The love of cultivating the paternal farm was always his passion and he continued to do so until it was sold. He would spend his summers in Dufresne and his winters in St. Vital with his two sisters, Maria and Alma. He also had a great interest in politics. The world news and the Newsweek and Time magazines were always found in the house. He was a very religious man and was always quietly supporting the church and many other organizations.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Internement to follow immediately after Mass at St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB.
"Vous avez entendu ce que je vous ai dit: Je m'en vais, et je reviens vers vous. Si vous m'aimiez, vous seriez dans la joie puisque je pars vers le Père, car le Père est plus grand que moi."
As per the family, MASKS ARE MANDATORY.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We are sorry to hear about Emile's passing. He was a good neighbour. I appreciated his gentle smile and good nature. We have been on this street since "only" 1991, and during that time we lived overseas for 14 years. We like this street a lot, and we enjoyed Emile as a neighbour. I will miss him. May our good God now take care of him, and we expect to see him again. - Posted by: Al Kehler (Neighbour on Ashton Ave) on: Jun 10, 2022

  • Sorry to hear about Emile’s passing. Emile was a humble man greatly appreciated by myself & my deceased husband William, who was Reeve at the time that Emile was CEO of the RM of Taché. He issued my driver’s licence when I turned 16. - Posted by: Patricia Danylchuk (Friend) on: May 29, 2022
