Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I first met Neville aka "Boise" aka "Rastaman" (as he was affectionately known) through a mutual friend in 2003. We quickly became friends due to his warm, kind nature, extremely likeable character and gregarious personality. We remained close friends for 7 years during which he helped me circumnavigate several issues life threw my way and celebrate many accomplishments with his words of advice and encouragement, his sympathetic nature and his genuine pride and happiness to see the people he cared for succeed in life. Boise possessed a friendly, comforting disposition, an infectious laugh and sense of humour and a commanding presence that was immediately felt in any room he entered without him having to utter a single word. He was reliable, responsible and always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a true friend. Over the years, we unfortunately lost touch, as people do, however, he was never too far from my thoughts. I am utterly devastated and completely heartbroken to learn of his passing - an individual who had such a massive impact on my life at its most crucial stage. Boise, I am grateful to have met you, lucky to have known you, and honoured to have called you my friend. You were one-of-a-kind....a true gem. I love you and I miss you, my friend. The world has lost a wonderful human being, and the Heavens have gained an eternally beautiful soul. Rest easy, Rastaman.🌹 - Posted by: Carol Skeete (Friend) on: May 10, 2026

  • I first met Neville in 2016 as a labourer for BBE working on the Spillway, building the Keeyask dam. Neville was my mentor later on in the project when we moved to the Powerhouse area. Neville was always kind and soft spoken and a mentor for me as a spotter for concrete trucks. Neville always smiled and said hello and he was my brother in the Lord. I miss him already and am sad but I know he’s in a better place. God bless you brother Neville. - Posted by: Mervin Budinikas (Coworker) on: May 28, 2022
