SOPHIA NELSON
(nee HOLOL)
Passed peacefully on March 2, 2022.
Sophia was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1999. She is survived by family and friends across Canada.
Born on a homestead in Endeavor, SK, she spent her early years helping out on the family farm, attending school, and was active in all sports, especially softball. Her life took her to Edmonton, Thunder Bay and finally Winnipeg, the city she loved most.
One of her greatest accomplishments was getting to travel the world. Not only seeing all of Canada and almost every state in the U.S., but also Norway, Australia, New Zealand and China where she walked on the Great Wall.
Sophia spent 45 years volunteering with St. Johns Ambulance and was on winning provincial and federal first aid teams. She was made an honorary life member during her time with the St. Johns Retirement Fellowship Group.
Sophia wishes to be remembered as she was in real life and requested a private burial.
