DORIS EMMA MARIE LAUZE
(née MALO)

February 23, 1939 - May 27, 2022

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Mom at Action Marguerite St. Vital on May 27, 2022 at 83 years of age.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: son Richard and wife Christine, grandchildren, Kindra and Brenden (Josie); daughter Diane and husband Wayne Casper, granddaughters, Kerri (Kori) and Kaitlyn (Eric), great-granddaughter Annette; daughter Gisèle and husband Howard Wiebe, granddaughter Janelle, great-grandsons, Ethan, Rylen and Bodhi, grandson Dani (Brittany), great-granddaughters, Quinn, Charlotte and Mirryn; son René and granddaughter Grace. Doris is also survived by brothers, Fernand Malo and Roger (Rose) Malo, as well as sisters-in-law, Rollande (Tom) Lauzé-Duffy and Gail Lauzé, and brothers-in-law, Paul (Linda) Lauzé and Léo Vuignier. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Fernand Lauzé, her sister Clémence Vuignier, as well as her parents, Delphis and Alma Malo, and numerous sisters in law and brothers in law.
She was born in St. Malo, MB on February 23, 1939. After finishing school, she worked in the local sewing factory in her hometown. At 18 years of age, she moved to Winnipeg and did office work for Manitoba Hydro for two years. Doris met Fern at a local dance and they were married in 1959. They farmed together on the Lauzé family farm until their retirement in 1990, after which they travelled the world.
Doris enjoyed curling, sewing, gardening, bird watching, watching sports, loved reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, doing cross-stitch, walking and was an excellent cook, but most of all cherished spending time visiting with family and friends. Many savoury meals were enjoyed at her table.
After Fern's passing she moved to Cathedral Manor and greatly enjoyed life there and made many new friends. She loved participating in social events such as bingo, card games, and exercise classes as well as taking in local entertainment at the Manor. She also enjoyed welcoming new residents to the Manor.
Cremation has taken place and as per her wishes, a private memorial service and inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Rhonda and the staff at Manoir de la Cathédrale, the family doctors at Accèss St. Boniface, as well as the kind and compassionate staff at Action Marguerite St. Vital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris' memory to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.
