LAURENCE (LAURIE) ARTHUR
DE PAPE
February 17, 1952 June 2, 2022
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, our beloved father, "Pa", and brother peacefully passed away.
Laurie leaves behind his children, Kelli, Jackie (Jeremy) and Sean (Mandie); four grandsons, Gavin, Henry, Xander and Ryker; brother Ed (Cheryl) and sisters, Rita and Judy (Kelly); and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Paula De Pape.
Those who spent time with Laurie will always remember his ability to make them laugh. He loved to joke around and tease, and was a big kid at heart.
His biggest joy in life were his kids and grandkids and he treasured the phone calls and time spent together. As a lifelong lover of sports, he turned from player to viewer, and enjoyed watching games of any kind with close friends. A gifted writer, Laurie would often write a poem for someone's special occasion. Above all, he will be remembered for being friendly and kind to all.
A memorial service will be held for Laurie's family and friends on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.

To Kelli, Jackie and the entire DePape family my deepest sympathy. I got to know Laurie in high school and we curled together there and often after high school when we worked for the same company in Winnipeg. When he took over his Dad's insurance business in Holland, we remained friends and I became a customer. I really enjoyed his company, he was competitive but always fun to curl with or against and truly a good sport. I will always have fond memories! - Posted by: Ian Pritchard (Friend) on: Jun 09, 2022
