DONALD CAMPBELL
Donald Ross Campbell passed away on September 24, 2021, at home in Hope, BC.
He was predeceased by his spouse Shirley Jean Campbell; parents, Edith (Carrick) and Alex and sister Enid. Close survivors are his son John Campbell; brother Stuart (Susan) and sister-in-law Leslie Cryderman (Alan Patton).
Don was born in 1935 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and moved with his family to Beausejour, where he met Shirley. A gunsmith by trade, Don also partnered with Shirley in Lee's Ceramic Studio and Lee's Molds in the 1970s in Winnipeg. They retired to Hope, BC in the early 2000s.
One of Don's greatest passions was sport fishing. He leaves a large number of friends and fellow fisherman in both Hope and Winnipeg. He was also a master craftsman, taking on personal projects ranging from a propeller driven snowmobile in his youth. In his retirement, he mastered the craft of machining fine centre pin fishing reels, which were very well received by the fishing community.
He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends.
If desired, donations may be made to the SPCA.
