PETER J. DYCK
1927 - 2022

Peter J. Dyck, 94, of Arnaud, Manitoba passed away surrounded by family, on June 4, 2022 at the Niverville Heritage Life Care Home.
He is survived by his beloved wife Helen Dyck; three sons, John/Susan, Doug/Elona, Bruce/Angie and one daughter Kim/Ron; grandchildren, Jeremy/Renee, Derick, James/Lynele, Riley, Kayla and Janelle/Brayden; great-grandchildren, Rielle, Liana, Rhett, Mackenzie, Alexis, Sky and Jordon.
Peter was born on October 28, 1927 in Konteniusfeld in what is now the Ukraine. His family fled as refugees in 1930 to Germany and then to Canada, where they purchased a farm in Arnaud, Manitoba. It was a mixed farm with cattle, hogs and grain. Peter was on the Local UGG board for many years and spent seven years on the Manitoba Hog producer's board.
He had many passions, hunting, fishing, playing baseball and hockey. Even after retiring at the age of 76, he loved to help his son in harvest, driving the grain cart or combine. He was an especially good cook and his BBQs at the July first days in Arnaud were always a highlight. The Dairy Queens will miss him and his passion for ice cream.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Arnaud, Manitoba cemetery.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Peter J. Dyck to the Winnipeg Children's Hospital or the Food Grains Bank.
The family would like to thank the staff, especially Betty, at the Niverville Heritage Life Care Home for his comfort care in his last hours. Thank you, Angie, for the many visits you had with Dad over the years. You helped to brighten up his days.
