It is with great sadness that we announce the unfortunate passing of Radoslav Bodiroga on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 83 years of age. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Senka; son Zeljko (Shannon); daughter Zeljka (Danny); and his four precious grandchildren, Melania, Giuliano, Danilo and Zackary.
Radoslav was born in Trebinje, former Yugoslavia in 1939. He was predeceased by his father Djoko; his mother Anica (nee Sulaver); brother Gojko; and his nephew Milan. He also leaves his brothers, Milan, Petar (Zorica); sister Dara Majkic (Mirko), Borka and their families.
He immigrated to Canada in 1974 and was employed in the food and restaurant industry. Upon arriving to Canada he resided with the Karaganis family and developed a lifelong friendship which he always cherished. He deeply adored his grandchildren, enjoyed guitar, cycling and fixing bicycles, listening to CBC Radio, enjoyed political discussions with his friends, loved watching professional tennis matches, and was always a strong believer in self-education.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My condolences go out to both Zeljko and Zeljka and Mrs Bodiroga for the loss of Mr Bodiroga. Even though I rarely would run into Zeljko and Zeljka I would often see Mr. Bodiroga riding around the neighbourhood on his bicycle in which he would always give me a quick nod and a wave and in turn I would wave back. He will truly be missed. If you guys need anything at all please don’t hesitate in contacting me. Big hugs to all of you. May he rest in paradise. • Mrs. Bodiroga, Zeljka, Zeljko and families - I am very sorry to hear of the recent loss of Mr Bodiroga. As Zeljka's teacher I enjoyed many classroom visits with the Bodiroga family. A fond memory I have of Mr. Bodiroga's generosity was when I took my Grade 2’s on a field trip to the Dalnavert Museum followed by a short walk to nearby Dubrovnik's where Mr Bodiroga worked with his brothers. He arranged a very special lunch for Zeljka and her classmates. They were escorted to a private room where trays of sandwiches and french fries were served to them in a very fancy manner. I remarked to the waiter that I had no idea Dubrovnik’s had these items on their very posh menu. He replied they did not and this was a special treat from Mr. Bodiroga! After sandwiches came large pieces of Black forest cake…but the children did not seem to like the cake! The waiter observed and had the dishes quickly removed and replaced by large bowls of whipped cream and maraschino cherries. This was a big hit with the children! A very fun time was had thanks to Mr. Bodiroga! Mary Anne Shore - Posted by: Mary Anne Shore (Zeljka's Elementary School Teacher) on: Jun 13, 2022
