Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBROWN: Harvey Ray Brown of Strathclair, Manitoba passed away peacefully at Shoal Lake Strathclair Health Centre on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Harvey was born on December 26, 1941 to Ray (Bud) Brown and Leona Pohl (Brown) in Erickson, Manitoba. He grew up on the family farm at Crawford Park, Manitoba and attended school there. After leaving school, his passion was driving and that is what he did for 55 years, first with Veteran's Construction of Strathclair, and after getting his Class one driver's license, with Bennett's Transport of Strathclair; Arnold Bro's of Winnipeg as owner-operator; Odanah Truck Line of Brandon and finally as a school bus driver with Park West School Division. Harvey officially retired when schools shut down because of Covid-19 in 2020. Harvey enjoyed fishing winter and summer, watching a good hockey game (Jets) or ball game (Blue Jays) on TV, quiet drives checking out new country roads, attending events involving his grandchildren and telling stories over a cup of coffee and soft ice cream. He was predeceased by his parents Bud and Leona, son-in-law Casey Tocher, brother Morris, brothers-in-law Raymond Moffat, Peter Boyko and Edwin (Toad) Watson. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Verna (Yorke), son Bill (Bonnie) of Sandy Lake, daughters Wendy Tocher of Minnedosa, Audrey (Keith) McKerchar of Strathclair and Vicki (Dave) Peirce of Smithville, Ontario; sisters Evelyn Moffat, Darlene Watson and Florence Boyko, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Strathclair Municipal Hall with interment at Strathclair Municipal Cemetery.
