My wife and I both met Hugh through toastmasters in the 70’s which was held at the old Wildwood Club. We were both university students at the time and felt that Hugh was a mentor. Especially so for Jan, as Hugh helped her become the first female in Manitoba to be admitted as a member of Toastmasters. Hugh even then was the stabilizing force of the club, holding many executive positions and even going on to area governor. We eventually lost touch as people do but I remember him as a patient man with endless time to listen to what one had to say. His advice was always spot on and very much appreciated. He was a person you were proud to know. - Posted by: Robb and Janice Miles (Friends) on: Jun 18, 2022
