SHEILAH LAND
Born Sheilah Clark,
August 14, 1943, Treherne, MB
Passed June 17, 2021, Salmon Arm, BC
My sister was a feminist, a teacher, an empathetic school counsellor, a supportive wife, a proud mother, and the keeper of our family history.
She loved driving fast, taking courses, rock 'n roll music, political discussions, movies, Bob Seger's lyrics, long telephone visits, wearing fine jewelery, and writing and telling stories.
After losing Robert, her husband of 43 years, plus siblings Zelda and Garry, she decided to move from Winnipeg to BC, nearer her two children. Her sudden cancer diagnosis caught everyone off guard, including Sheilah herself. Her absence is still felt by many a year later: by former colleagues and by friends in both MB and BC; by nieces, nephews and cousins; by in-laws Ollie Clark, Grace and Bernard (Mary) Land (all of Winnipeg) and Tom Yeoman (Calgary); by her son Sterling (Renee) and daughter Monroe (William Clarke); and by me, her "little sister".
One of the Treherne Good cousins commented, "She was a force."
She was.

Colleen and Garry Miller (Brandon, MB)

We were dear friends from the time I was 14 years old. We kept in touch and my last talk with her was very close to her passing. She was the best friend anyone could ever have wanted. She was such a special person to all of my family but especially my granddaughters who will never ever forget her love and kindness and long telephone talks. I miss her more than words can express and keep thinking that phone will ring and she will be there to talk to. We keep our memories deep in our hearts and miss her always ❤️🌹🥂Rhea and Terry - Posted by: Rhea and Terry McGarry (Friends) on: Jul 29, 2022
