DAN HUDJIK
Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Dan Hudjik passed away at River East Personal Care Home at the age of 80.
Left to mourn him are his wife Mary-Ann, his brother Harold (Mildred), brother-in-law Leslie (Melinda), family, friends and his beloved pet dog Captain, who brought him much joy during his retirement years. Dan was predeceased by his two sisters Dolores and Fern.
Dan worked in the trucking industry, fulfilling a childhood goal.
As a small child Dan appreciated music. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar alone or with a group.
Dan was one of those people who could visualize a project and complete it. His final project was an attachment to the front of his walker for Captain.
Dan loved his Creator, Jehovah God and never wavered from his faith. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he believed in John 5: 28 and 29 which promises a resurrection from the memorial tombs.
The family would like to thank River East Personal Care Home and particularly those on Charity Road who cared for Dan with compassion and thoughtfulness. Additionally, thank you to those who supported us during Dan's illness.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane (Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road). The service will be livestreamed via www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Danny and I became friends over the years from when Fran – my late wife – and I moved to Winnipeg. Danny was a big man with a big heart and truly guided his life by Godly Christian principles. I was saddened, perhaps devastated when hearing of his death. I know that Danny had firm faith in Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection – a recreation to a perfect human life on a paradise earth, which is also the hope of many of Danny’s family, friends and acquaintances. On behalf of myself and Blaine and Rose-Lynn Asmundson, I want to extend heartfelt condolences to Mary Ann and Danny’s family who are deeply feeling sorrow and sense of loss at this time. There are no words in any language that can really convey this… Joe Brown - Posted by: Joe Brown (Old Friend) on: Jul 05, 2022

*** Remember all the SING-SONGS we used to have with Danny & John on the guitars......🎸 🎸 Mary-Ann printed copies of the words. Fran was playing piano 🎹 🎹 🎹 and singing. We all enjoyed those special times. Sadness came as we have lost our dear loved ones. .....But our FAITH in the Resurrection promise (John 5 : 28, 29) assures us that better times are ahead when Paradise is restored to the Earth. There will be no tears, sickness, pain and Death. (Revelation 21: 3,4)....That is God's original purpose. "These words are faithful and true." " Let your will be done, as in Heaven, also on Earth." (Matthew 6: 9,10) We will enjoy perfect health with our Friends and Family forever..... and many Sing-Songs again. .......🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵 ❤ Your Friends, John & Cindy OZUK - Posted by: John & Cindy Ozuk (Long-Time Friends) on: Jun 28, 2022

Our sincere condolences to Mary-Ann and Harold & Mildred and all their family. We have many happy memories of the 1960s (we left Winnipeg in 1967 and are now living in Edmonton); unfortunately, we have not kept in touch as we should have liked, but you all have been in our thoughts frequently. My big brother Larry and Dan worked together for years doing roadwork, hauling gravel and interacting on weekends. Our families were close and as a young teen I remember Dan always having a good story to tell and always with a big smile. It’s hard to hear of the loss of anyone close to us but the loss of Dan was especially hard to hear of. Our family circle grows smaller and smaller and the loss of someone we care about makes quite an impact. Dan was funny, helpful, had such a high regard for family and his Christian brothers and sisters and even though his health was failing you could always sense his smile even on the phone. My family’s sincerest condolences go out to you Mary-Ann and the rest of the family. I know the love and support of family and friends will carry you through this difficult time. - Posted by: Geri Murash (Family friend ) on: Jun 22, 2022

Dan was a fabulous neighbour. If he saw us working in our yard or garden he would come over to chat or provide solutions if he saw we were struggling with a project. He was so knowledgable in many areas and we sure noticed his absence this summer when he was at River East. May you rest in peace Dan. Please know that you are truly missed. - Posted by: Dianne and Paul Murdock (Neighbours) on: Jun 22, 2022
