MERLE ANN MAROWITCH
Merle Ann Marowitch (nee Menzies), age 94, died, in her home, on June 20, 2022.
She leaves behind her son John; two daughters, Joan and Janet; other family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband John to whom she was married for 59 years.
Merle was born in Morden, Manitoba in 1927. She studied nursing at the University of Saskatchewan before marrying John in 1952 and settling down in Winnipeg to raise her family. She worked in the family business, Magnet Industries, for many years.
Merle was an exceptionally dedicated mother. Her children and their wellbeing were central to her life. There was nothing that she would not do for them. She was a good friend, always ready to listen, empathize and even advise. Friends valued these conversations because she made them feel better. She was a lifelong learner and progressive thinker, compassionate with a strong sense of social justice. She had a ready smile for all she met and she always was thinking of others.
The family would like to thank the staff of Nurse Next Door, WRHA Palliative Care program and Dr. Mare for the excellent care provided.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to an organization of your choice.
