ELSIE LORENZ (LORI) WIGLE THUOT
April 6, 1938 - June 13, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Lorenz Wigle Thuot announce her death at Kingston General Hospital. Her partner, Victor Harward was at her side.
Born in Essex County, Ontario, Lorenz was the loving daughter of Elsie and Harold Wigle. She was the confidant and fun sister of Laura Cranston (Bruce) and Orrie Wigle (Alma). Lorenz was also the adored aunt of her nieces and nephews.
Travel was one of the many joys of Lorenz's life. It was on a European holiday that she met her future husband, Raymond Thuot. She had a very loving relationship with Ray's daughter and sons. Lorenz and Ray continued to travel, escaping Winnipeg winters for the sunshine of Arizona, Portugal and Spain.
Following Ray's death, with her usual pluck, Lorenz packed her bags and returned to Ontario, settling in Port Dover where she enjoyed walks by the lake, gardening, frequent games of Bridge, and the company of friends.
Additional happiness came when Lorenz was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Vic Harward. They enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Port Dover.
It was with grace and fortitude that our beloved Lorenz endured cancer treatments and heart problems.
A light has gone out of our world with her passing.

"To live in the hearts of others is not to die."

Cremation has taken place and the ashes will be laid to rest at Greenhill Cemetery in Kingsville, Ontario beside her parents and grandparents.
Sympathy may be expressed by donations to St. Amant c/o Abbotsford House Winnipeg or a charity of your choice.

  • I first met Lori around 1972. She was a very good friend to my Aunt, Uncle and Mother. Lori had extensive travels with all 3 over many years including many visits to Little River Lodge. She was adventurous and entertaining. I spoke with her during her health struggles over the last couple of years. My condolences to Vic and her family. She was courageous and is now at peace. - Posted by: Dallas Brushey (Long time friend) on: Aug 08, 2022
