DONALD LLWELLYN GOULD
August 7, 1933 - June 19, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Papa at his residence on Sunday, June 19, surrounded by family.
Dad leaves to mourn his wife of 61 years, Milly, his children, Debbie (Bob), Dollard (Dianne), Desmond (Brenda), Denise, Daphne (Rob), Liz, Sonny (Sheri) and Archie, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Peggy Devouno, Alma Davison, brother Clarence Gould, brother-in-law Albert Stagg; along with many nieces, nephews, and a vast community of close friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Mary, his sisters, Violet, Doris, Olive, Martha, Helen, his brothers, Bob, George, Albert, Howard, his daughter Mary-Lou, his in-laws, Wilfred and Irene, and sisters-in-law, Eileen, Sarah, brother-in-law Clifford, and auntie Priscilla.
Dad worked in construction for many years. His job took him to many places throughout Canada and he made lifelong friendships along the way. When he retired from construction, he found happiness working in the hay fields alongside his son Sonny and grandson Blaze. As July would approach, his excitement to be out in the fields could not be contained.
Dad was married to our mother for 61 years and July 2, it would have been 62 years. Their love for one another was immeasurable. Although they had different interests, they found common ground in the love they shared for their family. The patience and kindness he bestowed upon our mother during her ill health will always be one of the most important teachings he gave his children. Dad took pride in his family; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He greeted each one with a big hug and a kiss, no matter their age. He enjoyed having them gathered at his home for big family dinners, especially on Sundays and holidays.
Dad loved the community of Fairford. He was actively involved with the church, serving as Assistant Pastor for a number of years. He served his community with a passion, such as maintaining the cemetery grounds. He would not hesitate to respond to someone in need, regardless of the hour. He enjoyed going for coffee on weekends with his sons or going for a drive to Ashern with his grandsons. His favourite pastime was playing his harmonica for his grandchildren in the evening and tending to his dogs, Roman and Belle.
Dad's faith in a higher power was profound. He never doubted his faith throughout his life. He embraced all religions and had a deep respect for the Anishinaabe culture. His gentle and kind personality was contagious. His legacy is his humble, loving heart, which is a beacon of light for all in the community.
The family would like to extend many thanks to the community for the love and support during this difficult time. Your acts of kindness remind us of how much our dad was loved.
A wake service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Fairford House of Prayer, Fairford, Manitoba. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairford House of Prayer with Pastor Wilfred Bruce, officiating both services.
