FRANK MIZIOLEK

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank Miziolek at the Holy Family Home on June 17, 2022 at the age of 97.
Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Violet, brother Joseph (in Edmonton), and his grandson-in-law Marvin Johnson in Calgary.
He is survived by his two daughters, Joanne Cramer (Randy) and Donna Lischka; also his three grandchildren, Kim Cramer, Taryn Alexander (Kenneth) and Kyle Lischka (Ivona), also great-grandchildren, Shayla and Isaac, Jorja, Maya and Tino.
Frank was born in Szaj Kowce, Poland. After some living in Poland his family immigrated to Canada in Winnipeg. This is where he met the 'Love of his Life', Violet. They raised a family of two children, and the rest is history.
Frank was the type of man who would help anyone at any time; no matter what. He loved going to the race track; playing poker, telling jokes and stories and also fixing cars (his and others).
A private service was held by the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family on floor 3A. Also, many thanks to pallbearers, David Chomiak, Gerry Boham, Kyle Lischkea, Howard Cramer and Ian Kramer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the charity of one's choice.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • There is so much kindness and humour to describe Frank. But his intelligence was so sharp. Perhaps the most appropriate story is while in the nursing home. One patient who suffered from dementia asked uncle Frank to drive him to Kresgies (long closed store on Selkirk avenue.) Instead of refusing or telling the poor fellow that it no longer existed or that he was mistaken Frank gently told the fellow he could not take him because Frank was going there by bike. The gentleman understood and was no longer bothered. So typical of Frank. Dave Chomiak - Posted by: Dave Chomiak (Nephew ) on: Jul 02, 2022

  • It is with deep sadness that I, along with my sister Susan, pass along our sincerest condolences to the Miziolek Family. I still remember the strange penny poker games that Auntie Violet and Uncle Frank would play with my parents Steph and Fudgey (Leskiw). They would play for hours drinking their Bloody Marys and smoking cigarettes at the kitchen table all the while talking about each others' families and their successes. Uncle Frank was a kind, generous soft-spoken man who was as fit and strong as anyone I knew and could prove it. "Uncle Frank, it is now time for you to rest and once again chill with your pals the three Walters (my Dad, Mr. Klym and Mr. Chomiak). You are in our Prayers!" - Posted by: Mark Leskiw (family friend) on: Jun 28, 2022

  • My condolences to Frank's children, grand, and great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.. He will be missed. Frank had a long and full life. He was a kind man who cared for and about others. He was a family man, a handyman, a fitness figure who loved to tell funny and interesting stories. I'll remember his teasing about my childhood when he and his wife Violet had to take care of that "baby sister." His love for others was genuine and his assistance freely given; an example being his patiently explaining how to change the oil in my car as he did it. Though I never did my own, I appreciated the process and time spent with him. I trust he now rests in the love of God.. - Posted by: Frances Evers (Sister in law) on: Jun 26, 2022
