Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I just learned of Marg's passing today - July 25. Was standing at my ironing board and like a thunderbolt, the thought hit me that something was wrong with Marg so I checked her Facebook page and discovered this sad news. Marg and I met in 1958 in Ontario through our then boyfriends. We lost touch for many years but reconnected about 15 or 20 years ago. I am so saddened to learn of her passing. I am happy that we did manage to have two visits - I travelled from Calgary, and Marg from Winnipeg and we met at the spa in Moose Jaw. Marg was such a loving family person and so proud of her daughter Kim, grandchildren and great grandchild. My sincere condolences to Marg's immediate and extended families, and to her wide circle of friends. She was an original and will be missed. - Posted by: Evelyn Lawless (Friend) on: Jul 24, 2022

  • A little poem for Marg from her sister Evelyn As sisters together through life’s joys and pain, Somehow together we handled the strain. We argued and bickered - made each other mad, But if you weren't my sister, life would have been sad. We cried till we laughed and laughed till we cried, Sometimes for no reason, we didn't know why. Through years not together our bond remained strong Because we were sisters who knew if things were wrong. We whispered deep secrets only sisters could share. Because we were sisters who really did care. So, whether together, living lives far apart, You were my sister, My friend, forever in my heart. Rest in peace Marg, Love Evelyn - Posted by: EVELYN F SCHRIBER (Sister) on: Jul 12, 2022

  • January 1943 Late at night. Very very cold Winters night in Scarborough, Ontario. Mom got Marg and me bundled up to go outside and see the Northern lights. I'm sure they were brilliant but we spent the next cold fifteen minutes sliding down the snow covered front steps on a couple of pieces of old cardboard. Much laughter as I recall. Interesting how some old memories remain forever. Thanks Marg for this memory. - Posted by: Ron (Brother) on: Jun 26, 2022
