ANTHONY ALFRED MATTHEW CUTLIP
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Anthony (Tony) Cutlip on June 27, 2022, at the age of 41.
Anthony joins his son Matthew Cutlip; father John and mother Belva. Anthony leaves behind his stepmother Darlene Simard; sisters: Roxanne and Charmaine; brothers: Tyson and Jarod; his granddaughter McKenzie and his special niece Freedom.
Anthony was born in Sayisi Dene Denesuline Nation (Tadoule Lake) on June 12, 1981. Anthony grew up in his home community. He later attended Brandon University where he studied for numerous years in the pursuit of obtaining his Bachelors of Education through the PENT program. That propelled him to teach at Peter Yassie Memorial School for several years before moving to Winnipeg, MB. Tony struggled while living in Winnipeg, however he developed close relationships during this time.
Following the recent loss of his son Matthew, Tony strived to better himself. He was a hard worker and did all he could to make a better life for himself and his family. Anthony was hired by Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM) in March 2022. He worked diligently for KIM as a Curriculum and Harm Reduction Advisor. Tony will be remembered by his co-workers as a hardworking, caring, and generous man. Incorporating his own life experience, Tony's work at KIM was exceptional.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his cousin Monica Kithithee. Both he and Monica often aspired to "save the world" like Superman. Tony may have not saved the world, but his work at KIM will make a difference in the lives of many.
Tony will be truly missed.
A service for Tony will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, July 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tony will be buried back home in Sayisi Dene Denesuline Nation
A Go-Fund-Me page has been created in the hopes of establishing a trust fund for Anthony's granddaughter, McKenzie. tinyurl.com/TonyCutlip
