DAVE CRAIG SCANLON
May 31, 1948 - July 5, 2022

74 amazing years of life well lived! Peaceful now after a year of combating Cancer, we called you "Super Dave". Predeceased by his parents, William and Beverly.
Dave will be forever missed and fondly remembered by wife Pamela (Born) Scanlon, daughters, Grace Scanlon (Matt Swerdelian), Jessica Scanlon (Martin Jedrzejewski) sisters, Debbie Cameron (Ken), Cheryl Scanlon (Bob), brother Bill Kitson (Rosemary Deans), father-in-law Walter Born and mother of their children, Renate Scanlon.
Dave grew up in East Kildonan, and raised a little hell running away with the circus at 15. He had many jobs, many careers, loved them all. He remembers, by Name and with a Story, all the friends he made along the way. Dave loved working for the CNR as a brakeman and later the Waterworks working outside until his retirement. He also operated his own business Aquarius Fire Hydrant Services for over 30 years. His daughters proudly carrying on the tradition.
Dave brought up his two girls, Grace and Jess with such love, humour and pride. He rocked Grand Beach and made it home. A huge Bomber and hockey fan, he played OldTimers in Southdale and had Jets seasons tickets for years with good friend Dennis. In the beach the Happy Hour Gang still meets up, sadly no more Cone Calls.
10 years ago Dave and Pam reunited, got married and brought passion and joy to each other's life, travelling everywhere in their 5th wheel with the Harley. Always saying "it's the journey that counts", now Dave is safe at the destination!
Cremation has occurred at Chapel Lawn and the family members gather to tell stories. A Celebration of Life is planned "outdoors" in the next couple of weeks and notices will be sent.
Thanks to CancerCare Manitoba, you were there for us and to St. Boniface Palliative Care for your kindness.
In lieu of flowers, Pam and Dave request you consider becoming an organ donor. You can register at signupforlife.ca
