ROBERT GEORGE MOLLER
Born August 18, 1951
Gladstone, Manitoba
Passed Away July 2, 2022
Cochrane, Alberta

Born in Gladstone, Manitoba to Reinhold Julius and Marie Elizabeth Moller (nee Lauber), he lived his first four years on the family farm in Plumas, Manitoba, moving with the family to Winnipeg in 1957 where he lived until relocating to Cochrane in 2019.
Predeceased by his parents, Rob is survived by two sisters and a brother, Rose Palen, Helen Parent (Victor), Heinz Moller and other family members including six nieces and nephews, 11 grandnephews and grandnieces. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Wendy, Sandy, Vernon, Angela, Kimberly and Anthony, and will be missed.
He was a devoted son, living with and helping his mother in his childhood home until she relocated to a senior's residence. While he never learned to drive, he bicycled everywhere around Winnipeg even riding out to Lee River on occasion until his stroke in 2008, but still continued to walk (or bus) wherever he needed to go. Fiercely independent, dedicated and hardworking, he loved spending time in Lee River with his brother at the cottage fishing and partying. He also liked to travel to Cochrane every summer to visit first his sister and then his mother, often bringing along on the bus a mocha torte from Lange's Bakery in Winnipeg (a taste of heaven). While he was quiet, he enjoyed being around activities and people especially a game of crib, which was a serious affair!
A Celebration of Life was held at Advent Lutheran Church, 11 Scenic Acres Gate NW, Calgary, Alberta Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will take place at a later date at Christ Lutheran Church, Waldersee Churchyard Cemetery, Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Heinz, I just was told by my sister of Rob's passing. My sympathies. I still remember you and he letting me have a turn with the axe, to help chop away at the old stump in your yard, and the two of you teaching me to play Nine Men's Morris, which at the time I thought was the coolest game ever. - Posted by: Brian Donst (long-ago friend) on: Jul 14, 2022

  • My condolences to the family. Robe will always have a fond memory in my heart. He was an awesome Uncle and a kindhearted friend. - Posted by: Penny Lynne (Sister In Law) on: Jul 14, 2022
