YVONNE JOSEPHINE LARNER

In the early morning hours of July 4, 2022 Mom left us to join Dad and the rest that have gone on before her.
Yvonne married the love of her life, Raymond Larner, on February 16, 1963 and had 54 wonderful years together.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Ray, her mother and father Jack and Eileen Bell, her brothers, Robert Bell, Brian Bell and sister Shelagh Lyons.
Left to celebrate the wonderful life she led are her three boys, Raymond (Lorraine), J Barclay (Marcy) and Leonard (Melanie) and her three cherished grandsons, Jack, Sam and Jett as well as Jordan Hudson, Carley Giese and Christopher Friesen. She is also survived by her sister Jocelyn Goodman of Vancouver, sister-in-law Phyllis Bell of Winnipeg, several nieces and nephews, her beloved cousin Joan Rue of Winnipeg, dear friends, Jean Marshall of Woodlands and Yvonne Lindsay of Winnipeg.
In 1972 Yvonne took over her father's Insurance Agency and continued to run it with great pride and success for 46 years. Yvonne also took great pride in being the first female Insurance Broker to sign a contract with the newly formed MPIC Corporation in 1972. In a predominantly male industry, Yvonne gained the respect and admiration of many of her male colleagues and enjoyed all 46 years of her career.
Other than running a business, being an incredible mother and being a chauffeur to her boys' hockey games and practices for many years, Mom also had a passion for charity.
She spent 40 plus years as a proud member of The Quota Club Of Winnipeg, a chapter of Quota International which is a Women's service club that raises money for several different causes including Speech, Hearing and Visually impaired organizations. The ladies of Quota held a very special place in Yvonne's heart as they were women just like her that also had a passion for giving to others. Yvonne developed many long standing relationships with these wonderful women and enjoyed travelling with them to their conventions that took them all over the world. She loved each and every one of you ladies.
When Yvonne was not at work or at Quota functions, she could be found at her favourite family retreat at Falcon Lake. She was fortunate enough to enjoy her spare time out there for over 80 years making memories with family and friends.
For us, having a family business meant that we were fortunate enough to spend literally everyday with her, learning from her, watching her care for her clients and developing lifelong relationships with so many who became friends and an extended part of her family.
To her clients from Bell Insurance, we would like you to know that she cared deeply and spoke highly of each and every one of you. She spoke of each one of you like she had just made a new friend.
To our brother Raymond, the care and compassion that you gave our mom will never be forgotten, your personal sacrifices to ALWAYS put Mom first were incredible and for that we thank you.
The family would like to thank the wonderful ladies from Comfort Keepers for your care over the last five months and also a very special thank you to Stanley Horch for the bedside visits and prayers that she took incredible comfort in while she prepared for her spiritual journey.
At Yvonne's request, there will not be a public service. She and Dad will be interred together along with her mom and dad at the Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice to help others.

Mom, words cannot express the sorrow we feel at this time. However we are extremely grateful to have had you with us for as long as we did. Your spirit will live on in us forever. We will never forget the passion you had for your family and those around you and how you lived your life always giving and never taking. May your beautiful soul Rest in Peace.

  • My deepest condolences go out to the sons of Yvonne. My husband, Bill jr, was Ray's nephew. Years ago we were very close to your mom and dad, but as life happens, interests change and kids come on the scene, our families grew in different directions. I was blessed to visit Bell Insurance a year or so ago, and had a wonderful visit with Leonard. We got caught up as much as we could in a short visit, promising to do it again, which I will full-fill in the next few weeks. Life hands us many challenges and you boys have been raised by wonderful parents who have prepared you to handle this situation with grace, dignity and honor for your Mom and Dad. Together again, Ray and Yvonne will rest in peace knowing their sons will carry on in life with the strength and love instilled in them. Be strong, you are in my thoughts. - Posted by: Donna Larner (Ray sr and my father in law Bill sr were brothers.) on: Jul 16, 2022
