ELMER JEAN GAUDRY

It is with great sadness that the family of Elmer Jean Gaudry announce his passing on July 14, 2022, at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 79 years, our dearly loved companion, Dad and Pepere.
Remaining to forever cherish his memory, his loving companion Verna; son Perry; daughter Lizette (Lorne); Verna's children, Ricci (Steve) and Cory (Karen); grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, Ryan, Sandy, Chantaye, Cher, Breal, Malika, Liam, Aidan and Evan; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Weston, and Teyvan. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Leonard) Gladu, sister-in-law Rolande Gaudry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Elmer has one remaining Aunty - Jeanne Rolley (Flamand).
Elmer was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Emma Gaudry (nee Flamand); brothers, Brian, Robert, Melvin; sisters, Nora and Doreen; daughter-in-law Rachelle Leost.
Elmer lived his entire life in St. Laurent on the family homestead. He took great pride in his sod farm and was a commercial fisherman in the winter.
Elmer embraced life, loved his family, friends and times spent with them. He was a person of strong character, and loved to tease. He left his mark on all of us. His sense of humour, strong moral values, work ethics, and most of all - loving your family were all something that he instilled on us all. Despite health challenges over the last few years, Elmer remained inquisitive, always enquiring on how family and friends were doing and took great pride in the paths each chose in life.
Thank you for the special care given to Elmer by the St. Laurent and Stonewall home care workers - you all know who you are.
Donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Prayers and viewing to take place on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., with funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow the service in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Cemetery.
