JOHN ERROLL DONETZ
Unexpectedly on July 16, 2022, on the dock at his beloved cottage, John Erroll Donetz, passed away. John was born June 29, 1954 in Winnipeg; and spent his school years in Stoney Mountain, Stonewall and the University of Manitoba.
John had a very diverse career as a scientist. He was a professional biologist with over 45 years experience across the vast landscape of Canada; from uranium mines in northern Newfoundland to the SkyTrain in Vancouver.
John loved life, particularly his life. He loved spending time with his friends, family and community. He had a passion for music. During parties, he was often with a guitar or at a piano spending the evening entertaining everyone with his favourite tunes.
John will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Marni; their children, Xan, Kate and Jane Donetz; brother Neil Donetz; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to mention. Predeceased are his mom and dad, Jack and Elsie Donetz.

Dear Marni and family, I was so sorry to hear about John. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. To this day, whenever I think of John, the MacLean and MacLean parody of “I’ve been everywhere man…” comes to mind. I recall many a happy night being entertained by him. (I think he was the only musical one among us.) He will be missed. Sending virtual hugs, Anne - Posted by: Anne Millar (Friend) on: Jul 23, 2022
