With great sadness we announce the passing of Bev Limerick on July 22, 2022, loving wife to George Limerick, her best friend for over 29 years.
Together George and Bev built a beautiful life. They spent countless hours in their award winning garden at their little piece of paradise at Lester Beach, MB.
Bev was born in Flin Flon, MB to loving parents, Paul and Laura Sawrenko.
She is survived by her husband George, mother Laura, brother Ronnie (Elise), daughter Kelly (Mark) and grandchildren, Brayden and Ella.
Bev always took pride in taking care of others. Whether that be as a nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, she always selflessly put others' needs ahead of her own.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, should you choose, donations can be made in Bev's name to CancerCare Manitoba.
Friends and family are invited to visit Bev's memorial page where memories and condolences may be shared.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I was saddened to read of Bev's passing. We rented one of the cabins at Black Forest resort for several years. I was pleased to read that her dream of becoming a Grandmother had come to be as she was so looking forward to becoming a Grandma. I enjoyed my conversations with Bev and even though I did not know her well, she left an impression with me. My sincere sympathies to all the family. - Posted by: Arlene Walker (acquaintance) on: Aug 18, 2022

  • Kelly, George, and the rest of the Family first we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Bev was truly a joy in this world. Her gardening was legendary and was even published in Manitoba Gardner’s Magazine believe? I loved how you were always pulled together with glass of wine in hand regailing us with different “Kelly Stories”. The story of a very, very little Kelly and specific stuffy come to mind at the moment. Your patience with Kelly (and I suppose me as well) were legendary. From unauthorized parties, car rides, and the very late “upset tummies” od our teenage years at the lake - you were sure a pretty forgiving Mother! You are and will always be loved and missed by so many. I promise I’ll keep Kell in line for you as well :). So I as I close off I raise my glass of wine tonight to you Bev. You were one Hell of a Lady! - Posted by: Denise Manikel (Bev’s daughter’s Friend) on: Aug 15, 2022

  • Our deepest sympathy to George, Kelly & family. We were blessed to have rented cottages from Geo. & Bev from 1993 & have been close friends ever since. What a great couple they made, they were true soulmates. Joanne & Bev were very alike in many ways & shared many talks into the night. She fought & stayed so positive. She will be sorely missed by us all. - Posted by: Tom & Joanne Kolba & Hayley Silk (Friends ) on: Aug 10, 2022

  • Sincere Condolences to Bev's Family and Friends on their loss. I was among the women who were part of Bev's class in nursing school. She was always smiling and interested if there was a bit of innocent mischief to be gotten into. I was sorry that she wasn't at our latest reunion in June of this year but now I understand why. Sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy your well earned rest, my friend. There were a few of our classmates who went ahead and will no doubt have a beverage of some kind waiting for you. ;) - Posted by: Eileen Kent (classmate at VGH nursing school) on: Aug 03, 2022

  • George, Kelly & family, we are so sorry for your losing your wife & Mom, way too soon. We are thinking about you & sending our love to you all. I was so fortunate to have spoken with Bev shortly before she went into hospital. She sounded so positive, as was her nature. So many fond memories of Lester Beach in the 80ies, lunches & craft afternoons at each others homes in the winter came flooding in. We will miss her sunny self. - Posted by: Mary & Bill Gulka (Friends) on: Aug 03, 2022

  • Dear George, Kelly and family and Lauraand Ron and family: I met Bev and George in 2008 when I rented a small cabin from them. I returned every summer for 11 years. As soon as I pulled into the yard it was like coming home. Bev and George welcomed me with loving hugs. I will miss Bev, but not as much as her George and family will. You were the ultimate hostess. My granddaughter came often with me but on her first visit she fell in love with Bev and her "fairy garden and house". She brought Bev a small ornament for her garden the following year. Thanks so much for the memories. Rest in Peace, my dear friend. - Posted by: Lorraine (Friend) on: Jul 30, 2022
