THERESA (TERRY) KIESMAN
(nee CEBRIY)
April 20, 1935 - June 8, 2022
Theresa (Terry) Kiesman, loving wife, Mom, and Nan passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Riverview Health Centre after a brief but courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Faye (Al), Cindy (Ken); daughter-in-law Sheila; eight grandchildren, Janet (Phil), Laura (Kent), Zach (Ashley), David (Mikaila), KC (Patrick), Matthew, Isaac, and Marguerita (Matt); six great-grandsons, Euan, Noah, Colby, Danny, Zaden and Cameron; two siblings, sister Maryanne (Don), brother Emil; and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Raymond and most recently, her only son Melvin (Mel).
Theresa was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan and eventually moved to Winnipeg where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Ray Kiesman. In addition to being an avid sports fan of the Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets, Mom loved Bingo and was quite lucky at winning. At formal celebrations, Mom and Dad would dance in sync with rhythmic steps that was a joy to watch. She was a woman of many talents - sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking, and baking. Although Mom made a career at various sewing factories, many relatives and friends were blessed with her talents as she created clothing, winter coats, many bridal and bridesmaid dresses, newborn baby clothes and blankets. Mom had a green thumb and would proudly show the flower gardens she created. In retirement to Matlock, Dad and Mom would grow incredible vegetable gardens - then give away most of the harvest. No one will ever make cabbage rolls, perogies, butter tarts, or dessert pies the way Mom did. After moving back to Winnipeg in the later years, Mom and Dad would host many Christmas dinners for family and whoever else showed up - there was always enough food and a place to sit. After Dad passed, she spent her last years living at St. John's Haven where she made many friends such as Ardith and Pat who helped us immensely take care of her in her last months and weeks.
Thank you to the staff of CancerCare, St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for their incredible care and compassion during her illness.
A private family gathering will take place in September where she will be laid to rest with Dad at Chapel Lawn.
If you wish, make a donation to a charity of your choice in her name, or perhaps simply plant a flower in her memory.
