Ervin Fiks was born April 28, 1935 and went to heaven on July 28, 2022.
Ervin passed peacefully on the morning of July 28th after a two year battle with leukemia. He went to join his saviour Jesus Christ and to be with his beautiful daughter Denise, granddaughter Christina, his parents Helen and Konrad Fiks, brothers Wilf, Eric, Bill and sister Tabea as well as many more in-laws and friends.
Ervin is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Hilda. Their love and life were filled with joy and sadness, difficulty and pleasure. Through it all they shared a life of immense love and servitude to each other and to God.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by the other joys of his life; their children; Randy (Kerry), Myron (Tracey), Theodore (Kim) and grandchildren Amanda (Nevin) Martens, Nicole, Noah, Madalyn, Rylan, Morgan and Carson. As well, great-grandchildren; Blake, Lincoln and Emerson and sisters-in-law Sena and Erna plus many more relatives and in-laws.
Most of his life he was a hard-working dairy and grain farmer who continued his love of growing and gardening as he grew older and to his last days.
Ervin was a devoted and loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We give thanks to the Lord our God for the many years of his love. To everyone that knew him and especially to his family he was a provider, protector, nurturer, hard-worker, friend to all lucky enough to be part of his life, and equally important to him he was a follower of the Lord. He was active in various churches his entire life.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
Dad's favourite verse was from Psalms 27:1:
The Lord is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear.
The Lord is the strength of my life.
Every day Dad asked God that he and his family dwell in the house of The Lord forever.
The greatest gift Dad gave his family and what he most wanted to be remembered for was his love.
Till we meet again you are never forgotten and forever loved.

Erwin is someone we got to know when he was visiting his son in St. Claude, Manitoba. A nice gentleman, great family man, talked a lot about his children and especially his grandchildren. Sincere sympathies to Mrs. Hilda Fiks and family. - Posted by: Norman and Paulette Berard (freind ) on: Jul 30, 2022
