MONIQUE ANITA MARIE BRULE
(nee LAFLECHE)
June 10, 1933 July 31, 2022
Our cherished mother and grandmother Monique passed away gracefully at Bethesda Hospital, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89.
Originally from Charleswood, Manitoba, Monique planted her roots in Ile-des-Chênes with her beloved husband Jean (John) who sadly passed away in December 2010. They built their forever home on the d'Auteuil homestead, where she raised their four children and was always by his side. Despite the hard work, Monique found joy in life's blessings: family gatherings, travel and eventually; her grandchildren.
Monique was generous and hardworking, dedicated herself to helping others and had many talents. Fun-loving and playful, her laughter was infectious and shared without hesitation. To many, she was a friend and confidant. She was above all, the joy of our lives and to be in her presence, was a gift and a source of pride. She saw the best in everyone, genuinely loved company and made us all feel special; a true example of human kindness.
She will be missed by her daughter Michelle and Henri Savard; children, Brigitte (Colin Boisjoli), Mario (Alycia) and Patrick (Rochelle); daughter Diane and Allen Zelmer; children, Kellie (Ben Sanford), Debbie (Ryan Surette) and Zachery (Ashley); son Robert who she held very dear to her heart and daughter Nicole and Blaine Schwab; children, Britney (Evan Boroditsky), Cory and Jessica; as well as by her great-grandchildren, Cadence, Antoni, Pascal, Olivia, Ari and Liam. Monique is survived by her younger brothers, Robert (Alice) and Gérard (Céline); her sisters-in-law, Berthe, Suzanne, Yvette and Agnès; brothers-and sisters-in-law of the Brulé family and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Jean; her parents, Irené and Berthe (née Doré); her brothers, Martial, Alfred, Lionel and Sylvio and other beloved family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Hospital for the kindness and care they showed.
Monique was faithful to the Virgin Mary and the Notre Dame de la Miséricorde Parish. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Ile des Chênes R.C. Church, Ile-des-Chênes, MB. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
