JOHNSON: Muriel Jean Johnson passed away on July 9th with her daughters by her side at the Dinsdale Home. Jean was born in Broadview Sask., Nov 8, 1937, to parents Robert and Myrtle Judd. Sister Dorothy and brother Lyle welcomed their little sister. The family moved to Brandon and the family became East Enders! Growing up at 321 Russell Street. After completing school Jean had various jobs, her first job was at the CP lunch counter. Jean enjoyed cooking and the most memorable by her kids was operating the Curran Park canteen for many summers, where all the kids had their first jobs. Jean spent her majority of her career at Fairview home retiring in 1997. After retiring she put in many hours at the Sokol Hall – where she mentored her granddaughters at their first jobs. Jean also volunteered at Hillcrest Home for sing-a-longs and baking for everyone. Jean met AJ and they were married Nov 11, 1954, in Brandon. After the loss of four baby boys, they were happy to start their family with Barb, Ken, Sandy, and Jacquie. Shortly after Barb was born, Jean and AJ met Billy John who was welcomed into their family. Jean's home was always open to family, friends, and neighbourhood kids. A childhood dream was to live in the big house across the street where Jean grew up. The Johnson's moved into the Big House at 302 Russell Street. This house is a heritage home and Jean was so proud to have been the keeper of this home. Our home was always busy and full of family, friends, and kids! Thanks Mom!!! Jean enjoyed bingo, pull tickets, 10 pin bowling. Her passion of bowling tumbled over to her kids and again her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mom loved listening to Allan Jackson and Elvis. Jean also enjoyed the many family trips across the country and USA. Highlight was a three-week trip to California. As Jean's family grew and had families she loved going to visit in Alberta. Her love for the grandkids and great-grandkids kept her going west with Barb and her family. Jean loved her daily trips with Sandy, shopping, casinos, and egg deliveries. Jean moved to Dinsdale Home in Dec. 2021. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children Barb (Gregg), Ken, Sandy (Bob), Jacquie (Sheldon), Terri. Daughter in laws Doreen and Edna. Grandchildren Rikki, Ashley, Ali and Donna. Great-grandchildren Chase, Hannah, Eliza, Brayden (their mom Ashley) and Jaxson and Caz. Jean was predeceased by her parents, sister, brother, husband AJ, son Bill and her grandsons Scott and Cory. Graveside service was held Friday, July 15 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
