KENNETH FREDERICK BETTESS
April 17, 1939 - July 31, 2022
With the deepest sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Ken. The Lord took him home Sunday, July 31 at 5:53 a.m.
No more pain peace at last.
Ken has gone to be with his parents, George and Selina; his brothers, George, Edward, Sid, Herb and Jack; as well as other family and friends.
Left to morn are his wife of 55 years, Hope, daughter Faith (Richard) Porth, son Robert, son Jonathan, daughter Joy (Jeff) Cannon, son Frederick (Cyndi); grandchildren, Samantha (Denis) Thomson, Alicia, Jennifer (Andrew) Braun, Austin, Alex, Hazel, Isabelle, Thor; and great-grandson William. Ken is also survived by his brother David (Marylou), brothers-in-law, Oliver, Trnka, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ken was deeply religious and was involved as crucifer server and choir member of St. Michael and All Angels and St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church.
Ken was also involved with Scouting and numerous positions and groups in St. Vital. His call to fame as he called it was being related to Terry Fox and he never tired of bragging about it to whoever would listen.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 with Reverend Val From officiating at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Road. Interment to follow in Glen Lawn Cemetery. Lunch to follow in church hall.
Donations in Ken's name may be made to St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church or Terry Fox Fund.

Omg! Hope and kids, I’m so so sorry to hear about Ken. You guys were like a second family to me years ago. Babysitting back and forth. Believe in god as he will take care of his children. Ken will still watch over you. - Posted by: Wendy Flockton Hart (Friend) on: Aug 06, 2022
