EMILIEN COURCELLES
November 29, 1933 – August 1, 2022

Emilien died peacefully at the age of 88 years.
Emilien was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Aurore Courcelles; his son Gilbert; brothers, Omer and Louis; sisters, Olive and Aline.
Emilien is survived by Jeannette (nee Massicotte), his wife of 65 years; sons, Gilles (Annette) and Renald (Lisa) and grandchildren, Daniel, Robert (Christina), Dominic and Olivia. He also is survived by his sister Alice; brother Rheal and sisters-in-law, Helen (Bert) and Lucie (Gerry).
Emilien grew up in Ste. Agathe on his parent's farm. He married Jeannette and they moved to St. Adolphe where they lived for 60 years, raising their boys. They enjoyed their Sunday drives to see the fields and Saturday night dancing in the kitchen listening to Jamestown radio station. He enjoyed spending time gardening in the yard and working in the garage. He loved teaching the children and grandchildren how to drive the tractor. Dad taught us kids many things in life, work etiquette, responsibility, taking pride in what you do and to never give up. They travelled as a family across Canada and into the U.S. He started golfing at 65 years old. He loved golfing with friends and his grandsons. Dad enjoyed frequent trips to St. Vital Centre to meet up with his friends for coffee.
Emilien worked three years for La Broquerie Transfer and then at Balcaen and Sons for 36 years in HVAC; where Gilles also took up the trade. He also loved working on his father-in-law's farm in St. Adolphe.
Thank you to the staff that took care of him at Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville.
A private ceremony will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's society or to Canadian Diabetes.

  • My condolences go out to the Courcelles family. I still remember mon uncle chasing us on the farm when he would come and visit. He liked playing tricks on us.
