ANNE MARY KOSTJUK
(WIEBE) (nee STYRVOKY)
May 21, 1914 - August 1, 2022
Our mom, gramma, auntie Anne Kostjuk completed her incredible 108 year life journey peacefully at her residence, surrounded by loving family, friends and dedicated caregivers.
Gramma lived her last days very true to her nature with tremendous strength and purposefulness and with her signature great humour. Gramma was always thoughtfully checking in on the well-being of each of her loved ones with curiosity and interest throughout her life and right up to her last moments.
Anne is survived by her son Brian Wiebe; stepdaughter Vivian Leduchowski and her many grandchildren and large extended family. Anne was predeceased by her second husband Joe Kostjuk, who was the love of her life. Anne was also pre-deceased by her children, Roy Wiebe, Nancy Dumas, Violet Siemens, Jim Wiebe and stepson Harold Kostjuk.
Gramma loved us all so deeply and dearly loved her favourite caregivers at River East Personal Care Home who cared for her like she was their own family.
Our Mom and Gramma was a true marvel in so many ways. She loved to cook and would happily feed the whole bunch of us, with any new friends always welcome at her table. She always had an abundant garden that fed multitudes and continued that with bountiful potted tomato plants on her balcony well past her 100th year. Anne bowled at Billy Mosienko's for many years well into her 90s and was one of their most famous bowlers! Anne was mentally sharp as a tack doing crosswords and word searches, often correcting us in recollections of times and places and even when we couldn't immediately think of today's date!
The best lesson for a happy life that this loving and dynamic woman taught us is to cherish family and hold them close, and to continuously seek out and nourish new friendships. Gramma did that always with genuine interest and an abiding and earnest care for each and every one of us who were lucky enough to have been in her loving circle.

My deepest Sympathies to the family- I am very saddened by the news. I gave her a call on Saturday Aug 13, and the line was disconnected. I thought OK, what has happened. Therefore stopped at the care home yesterday when I was giving the news of her passing. It was with heavy heart that I left there not getting a chance to say Hi! She was an amazing lady who touched so many lives in her life time. I will surely miss our chats and visits. See you my friend in days to come as I journey upper to heaven on day as well. Your in the arms of Jesus now! I know your enjoying yourself there as well as you did on earth. Love you, forever you will be in my heart. Did Vivian, Iām so sorry to hear of the passing of Anne. She was indeed a marvellous woman. Her and your dad made a wonderful couple š I wish I would have been able to go to her funeral, but only read about it days later. Thinking of you all and the wonderful person that Anne was to all. With love and prayers, Anna (Fulcher) ššš - Posted by: Anna Johnston (Friend) on: Aug 12, 2022
