DORIS HARROW
(CAMYRE)
1930 2022
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Doris, on May 19, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
Mom is survived by her children, Janet (Emile), Franklin (Lori); grandchild Joshua, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Agnes Camyre; loving husband Allan Harrow and her brothers, Mo, Joe, Max and Charlie.
Doris was born February 13, 1930 and lived her entire life in St. Vital. Mom made many life-long friends and neighbours living on Hindley. Doris met the love of her life, Allan, while working at Sharpe's Auto Electric. After a lengthy courtship they married in August 1958 ("58 or the gate!")
Doris worked for T.C.A. (Air Canada) until she had her children, then worked part-time as a bookkeeper working for Murphy's Drugstore, Lakewood Drugs and retiring from Nieman's Drugs in 1993.
Doris enjoyed time at Poplar Bay with family and friends, fishing, family house parties, socializing, dancing, playing cards, the casino, going to the farm and just going for car rides.
In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass celebrating Doris' life will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald Street, Winnipeg.
The family requests that all who join us to remember Doris to please wear a mask and practice social distancing at the church. Masks will be provided for those who do not have one.
Interment to follow immediately after the service at St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street with a reception to follow back at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

It was 1967 when I met the Harrow family. I was 6, Janet and I were entering grade 1. I spent many a meal time and birthday celebrations over the following years in the Harrow kitchen. And I was always welcome. I remember Mrs Harrow for her unique laugh, chatty demeanour.. and energy. I am thankful to have known her. My condolences 💐 to Janet 💕 and Emile, Franklin and family - Isaiah 41:10 - Posted by: Val Myers (Loewen) (Friend ) on: Aug 14, 2022

My condolences to Frank, Janet and your family. I worked with Doris for a number of years at Lakewood Drugs. She was always a little spitfire and was so interesting to chat with. She trained me take over her bookkeeping position at Lakewood and was ever so patient with me. I will always have fond memories of her from our days at the Drugstore. May she Rest In Peace….. - Posted by: Bonny Poitras (Co Worker) on: Aug 13, 2022

In the 1960s, I worked with Doris at Murphy's Drug Store. She was an experienced cashier and I was a high school student. I remember her as always friendly and helpful - and always smiling. I eventually moved away from Winnipeg, but sometimes when visiting my Dad (Art Murphy) we'd run into Doris. Always happy for a catch-up chat. My Dad thought the world of Doris, and so did I. Extending my condolences to her loved ones. - Posted by: Barbara Murphy (long ago acqaintance) on: Aug 13, 2022
