  • I am so very sad to hear the news of Mary Lou’s passing. She was an ever present force of energy, light and happiness throughout our high school days at SMA. Always a kind word, an ask to join in a sports activity 🤭 with such enthusiasm, even if you knew you were completely terrible at it, you wanted to try for her sake. She left everyone she touched with a little more joy, and a comforting warmness that still persists today when she comes to mind. Gods speed! See you again! My sympathies to her family and friends at this time of great loss. - Posted by: Teresa Gall (Fellow SMA classmate and 1978 graduate) on: Aug 23, 2022

  • To the entire Mendro and Van Schie families, I am so saddened to hear of your loss. Mary Lou and I teased and prided ourselves on our Dutch heritage. Mary Lou was always a bright - if albeit mischievous- light for me and others at SMA. It was always fun to catch up with her at reunions, which she always attended. Prayers for all of you at this difficult time. - Posted by: Jackie Dixon (St. Mary’s Academy classmate) on: Aug 17, 2022

  • Dale and I were shocked to hear of Mary Lou's passing. I worked with her and we had many good times. Dressing up in our western gear for the Rodeo plus the time she told me that when she made icing one of her boys always wanted the lickers. She was super talented with her painting and calligraphy and her guitar playing which she enjoyed. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers.
