AMELIA ELIZABETH STREILEIN
After a heroic battle with cancer, Amelia Elizabeth Streilein, age 35, of Winnipeg MB and lately of Yonkers, NY, died on August 8, 2022.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Del Ahmed, her parents Leonard Streilein (Regena Rumancik) and Susan Funk (Mike Terpenning) and her sisters Melissa Guzik (Vincent) and Andrea Streilein (Tyler) as well as step siblings Sean Clark (Laura), Melanie Foucault (Tristan) and Philip Sinnock (Shannon), her many nieces and nephews and her aunts, uncles, cousins as well as all her extended family and friends.
She lived her early life in the Winnipeg area and chose a career in health care. She graduated with honours from the U of MB in nursing. She soon left for life in New York, marrying her husband Del in 2014. She worked as a nurse while continuing her education, graduating from Pace University as a Nurse Practitioner in 2018.
Amelia loved her childhood pets. Her current dog, Jerry was her constant companion in her travels and in her sickness. She travelled extensively in her short life and had a whirlwind itinerary across the globe. She loved to cook and eat healthy. She was an athlete, playing soccer, hockey and running, and lived a healthy life.
Her life, though short, was well-lived. We will all miss the light, the energy, the beauty, and the love she showed to others. Rest peacefully our dear girl.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 3597 Main St. on Monday August 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. A come and go reception will be held at Preservation Hall restaurant at 655 Empress St.

Although the capacity in which I have gotten a chance to know Amelia was limited, it didn't take long to recognize the type of person that she was. Having worked on the same team for the last few months, some of the things that stood out were how she was incredibly mindful and caring of her patients and colleagues (almost to a fault), that she always saw the “silver lining”, and how she sincerely wanted the best for everyone she interacted with. Even though her presence will be missed, she will not be forgotten. My deepest condolences to Del and family. - Posted by: Philip Jocelyn (Coworker) on: Aug 18, 2022

Having met Amelia a few times, she was a firecracker and joy to be around. May God give all the families and friends strength and comfort in knowing that she never gave up on her fight with that horrible disease, but God thought it was time to rest. May Amelia be at peace and without pain in the loving arms of the Angels. She will forever be in our hearts. God Bless.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💞💞😇 - Posted by: Shirley and Dave Walton (Family of Barb (Susie's sister)) on: Aug 15, 2022

I only knew Amelia for a brief time and via remote telehealth. She was always a shining light in our shifts together, joining meetings with Jerry who also was a part of our team. Her sense of humor was a welcome and needed plus for my sanity and her smile even on her last shift was infectious. She was a hard worker and a skilled clinician. She is sorely missed by her team at Cityblock. - Posted by: Janie Cloin (Coworker) on: Aug 15, 2022
