MARIAN MURIEL CROFFORD
(nee MYCROFT)
April 8, 1925 – August 22, 2022
Marian passed away at home early Monday morning. She was born to Charles and Kitty Mycroft on the farm near Elstow, SK. Predeceased by her parents, only sister Barbara, only brother Arthur, son Rodney, granddaughter Sunny, grandson Michael, nieces, nephews and many in-laws.
Mom taught school in Regina, Winnipeg, Selkirk, Nigeria (with CUSO), Canoe Lake, SK, Pierceland, SK, Macau and China, finally returning to Selkirk permanently. She was a true world citizen.
She became a member of the Baha'i Faith in the early 1950s, dedicating herself to the Cause, teaching, pioneering and serving on various committees and assemblies.
She is survived by daughters, Marguerite and Tahirih, son Richard, granddaughter Alyssa, grandsons, Justin and Sam, three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Kay.
She had a wonderful sense of humour and was loved by so many across the globe.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Clements Cemetery, Selkirk, MB.
There will be a memorial service, zoom power point, held at a later date.

My condolences old friends, Marguerite and Tahirih. Such fond memories spending time at the family home on Hugo in Winnipeg. Marian was such a lovely lady and her home was a safe warm refuge for a new comer to this country. The last time I saw her was back in 1980/81on a teaching break from Nigeria, a long time ago yes, but she was not forgotten and won't be. A special lady.
