ERNEST REIMER
August 8, 1937 - August 15, 2022

Ernie passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Center August 15, 2022.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Myrna, son David; parents, Isaac and Katie Reimer; brothers, Walter and Paul Reimer; and niece Donna Delorme.
Left to mourn his passing and cherished fond memories are his sisters, Hilda and Elsie; sisters-in-law, Carol and Dorothee; and cousin John, Kristina and family, along with many nieces and nephews as well as good friend Ward.
Ernie was happiest when spending time with Myrna and David. Some of his greatest joys were traveling with Myrna, hosting dinner and pool parties and attending many of David's sporting events. He spoke often of their furry family members, Shadow and Snowflake.
Ernie was a very accomplished businessman throughout his life, from delivering and collecting money for newspapers. This may have led him to a future career in finance as he held CFO and other financial positions with Supercrete/Canfarge Ltd and Alphair Ventilating Systems before retiring at 55.
Our deepest thanks go out to the all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Ward GD5 whose help and kindness in a difficult time was so appreciated.
In keeping with Ernie's wishes he has been cremated and no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I had the honour of working with Ernie to sell his condo in The Country Villas, he was very much looking forward to moving to Devonshire alongside his good friend Ward. In the many evenings I spent with him he talked and reminisced about his wife Myrna, her musical skills and the life they shared, as well as memories of his son and his work and the homes they had had through the years. Ernie was a true gentleman and it was an absolute pleasure to get to know him, I was saddened to hear from Ward that he had passed, he will be missed. - Posted by: Candice Semeniuk (Friend) on: Sep 20, 2022

  • Our deepest condolences go out to family and friends of Ernie’s. My wife got to know him while he lived at Country Villas. I helped out as a handyman. I enjoyed knowing him. When he moved he called to say good bye. And truly it was. Rest In Peace Ernie. - Posted by: Edward Saunders (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2022

  • We are deeply sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. The last time we saw Ernie in 2018, we reminisced about many fond memories that we shared over the years. From the good times we had when we visited at Myrna and Ernie's home on Henderson; enjoying the pool in summer and Sunday roast beef dinners in winter, ushering in the New Year at Narol Community Club to a night out dancing to Del Wagner and his Trio at Koko's on Portage Avenue and family dinner gatherings we hosted on Valour Road. May Ernie Rest In Peace. Sincere Condolences to Ernie's relatives. Dave and Shirley Hirst (Family Friends) - Posted by: Dave and Shirley Hirst (Family friends) on: Aug 29, 2022
