IRVIN (MUSKIE) HEAD
(NORTHERN BUFFALO)

Irvin (Muskie) joined our ancestors on Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home in Cranberry Portage. Irvin was a gentle force of life, respected by all who knew him. He was a most loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many.
Irvin was a leader, making so many positive and lifelong connections with people all around the world. His artwork created with all his spirit awakened many new friendships and built community. His creations travelled all over Turtle Island. His gallery, Northern Buffalo Sculptures, highlights much of his story, work and those of other Artists he promoted (https://youtu.be/xcn6ZwsfyDY)
Muskie did everything with passion, integrity, commitment and respect. He worked in the bush cutting lines, was a skilled carpenter, fire fighter, emergency responder, facilitator, teacher, sculptor / carver, cultural leader and Knowledge Keeper. Muskie could do anything! He shared his gifts and welcomed those who wanted to learn from him. His parents and grandparents were his guides, he honoured them in how he lived his life. His teachings will live on in his children and so many others.
He leaves his most loved, and loving wife, Lisa Gamblin; his children: Teagan (George), Irvin Jr, Sydni, Chris; and his grandchildren who call him Poppa! Also greatly mourned by his siblings, relatives, and friends.
Wake was held at the family Tipi guided by a Sacred Fire and Pipe Ceremonies, with final service at the Cranberry Portage School on August 19, 2022.
His entrance into the spirit world was with our cries and tears. It brings comfort that he is now embraced by his family there.
