HARRY KARL REHBERG

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Harry Karl Rehberg (born January 29, 1959) passed away, with his family by his side, on August 15, 2022 at the age of 63 years.
He is remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Lynda; children, Steven (Anika) and Natalie (Jakob); mother, Ruth; mother-in-law, Audrey; father-in-law, Robert; nieces, Trina (Bruce), Hayley, Alysha (Jacob), Kayla (Patrick), Nicole (Derek), and Sarah; nephew, Kyle; and sisters-in-law, Lorie (Denis), Janet (Jamie), and Jaylene (Bruce). Harry was predeceased by his father, Alex Rehberg, and by his older brother, Alvin Rehberg.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Harry's greatest passion in life was his family, of whom he was so proud. After moving with Lynda to Langley, BC in 1990, his love of cars led him to build replica Lamborghini Diablos in the garage of their home. Harry later retired alongside Lynda in Peachland, BC following his retirement from Pembina Terminals in 2021. It was in Peachland that he was able to enjoy his love of kayaking, long walks, and evenings spent taking in the view of Okanagan Lake while sipping a glass of wine. He was also very fond of frequent vacations to Mexico with friends and family.
Harry was so proud to see each of his children find the loves of their lives. In July 2022, he walked his daughter, Natalie, down the aisle. He was very much looking forward to watching his son, Steven, and his fiancé, Anika, get married in September.
A Celebration of Life will be held for close friends and family at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1 at 277 Church Road South, Narol, Manitoba.

He will never be forgotten.

Condolences & Memories (18 entries)

  • My Condolences to the Rehberg family. I was just reminiscing with a former coworker about Harry and we looked him up, sadly to find out he's passed on. Harry was our foreman at Lafarge in Richmond, BC for a few years and we nicknamed him "Happy Harry" Always smiling and in an upbeat mood. He would remember to bring each guy on the crew a cake on their birthday. Sad to hear of his passing. RIP - Posted by: Robert Gauvin (Workmate) on: Jun 15, 2024

  • On behalf of the Bartsch family, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the family. When we were neighbours on Clifton Street, I spent many hours hanging out with Harry and Alvin either pouring over their extensive comic book collection or sitting in their crab apple tree. Happy childhood memories for sure. - Posted by: Gaby Bartsch (Former neighbour from Clifton Street, family friends) on: Sep 01, 2022

  • We were great friends through High School at River East Collegiate in Winnipeg. Some of the fondest times of my life were with Harry and rest of our High School group of friends. We had lost touch for many years, but recently reconnected, and I'm very grateful for that time we had. Great guy that will be missed by all those who knew him. My sincere condolences to all of Harry's family. - Posted by: Jeff Davis (High School Friend) on: Aug 31, 2022

  • I worked with Harry for a few years. We had a nickname for Harry, we’d call him “Handshake Harry”. This was a compliment to his character because he was always ready to greet you with a smile and a handshake. What I respected most about Harry was his honesty and his integrity. He always wanted to make our jobs easier and would become frustrated when he was denied the opportunity to take care of the crews. When he retired he was missed immediately. But his passing hurts even more. My most sincerest condolences to Harry’s family in this extremely difficult time. - Posted by: Randy Wise (Co-Worker) on: Aug 31, 2022
