(nee JANZEN)
Alvena Dyck (nee Janzen) passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 85 on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 following a stroke.
She is survived by children, Reg (Anita), Joan Braun (Nic), Leanne Peters (Walter); grandchildren, Stacey (Dan), Allison (Darrell), Brendan (Kelli), Liam, Jade, Cabri; great-grandchildren, Alex, Janae, Madeline, and Rylan.
She was predeceased by husband Victor in April of 2022.
She is also survived by brother Alfred (Donna), sister Alma (Albert); brothers-in-law, Henry (Betty) and Carl (Janice). She was predeceased by sister Erica, sister-in-law Jane and brother-in-law Nick.
Alvena and Victor farmed at Starbuck until their retirement 2014. They had many close friends that they treasured.
Alvena was a person of faith, active in the Springstein Mennonite Church. She spent many years as an overseer at Sargent MCC Thrift Store. She had a love of life and enjoyed cooking, hosting, crafts, gardening, sewing and cars.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg for family, Springstein Mennonite Church family and by invitation. Service will be livestreamed at www.friendsfs.ca. Private family interment will take place in Springstein Cemetery.
