I was saddened to hear today that Ron had passed. Our families hadn't been close through our whole lives but the few times we did cross passes I always wished we got to know each better. I know Ron and his brother Ted had built a very successful music studio and training centre. One of his students was Randy Bachman from Bachman Turner Overdrive. In fact Randy started out in piano and it was Ron who got him on the guitar and we all know the rest. It's also saddened to just find this out today and oh how we've all missed. I have no one to blame but ourselves for this. I can only hope for best wishes for all of his family who ever they are and maybe on day we will all learn from this! We won't forget you Ron! - Posted by: Randy Komar (Cousin) on: Nov 08, 2023

Dear Bernice; I was very sorry to hear about Ron’s passing. He was an exceptional guy and musician. It was a privilege to hear him play and on occasion, to play along with him. I have nothing but fond memories of you, Ron, Richard Snezyk (my teacher) and the rest of the gang at Aberdeen and Arlington. Road trips on the Accordion Symphony into Saskatchewan are also well remembered. My deepest condolences. - Posted by: Adrian Strutinsky (Friend) on: Sep 05, 2022

Going back to my early years in the north end, I remember Ron as the type of person who no matter where you met him, on the street, at a family gathering or in the Tower theatre he had a friendly positive manner that made you feel comfortable being with. Ron is someone well worth remembering. Our condolences to Bernice and the rest of the family. Ray and Jane - Posted by: Ray Kostyra (Friend and Cousin) on: Sep 01, 2022

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Komar's passing. I have such fond memories of the Komar School of Music, where I was lucky enough to have him as a teacher and then as an employer when he hired me to give guitar lessons. That was my first "real" job and a true gift. I can honestly say I wouldn't be the person I am now without all of those hours spent at the studio. Deepest condolences to Mrs. Komar and to the family. May his memory be a blessing. - Posted by: Susan Dixon (Former student & teacher) on: Sep 01, 2022

I am very saddened to learn of Ron's passing. I remember with much fondness both Ron and Bernice from the time I spent countless hours in the studio for lessons, band practice, preparing for concerts, recitals and competitions. Ron was an exceptional musician and teacher who took great pride in his students as we progressed and flourished under his tutelage. Sincere condolences to Bernice and all Ron's loved ones. - Posted by: Joanne Martin (Bollenback) (former student) on: Sep 01, 2022
