SYLVIA LOMOW
April 23, 1933 - September 6, 2022
Sylvia passed away September 6, 2022.
Nothing was more important to Sylvia than her family, who she deeply loved. Sylvia is survived by her children, Deborah, David and Susan (Scott) and grandchildren, Joshua and Samantha. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 48 years, Eddie, mother and father Sadie and David Fox, brother Ike, and dear cousins, Jean and Sam Wolfman and Celia Hornstein. She will be missed by cousins, Phyllis Polansky, and Shayla and Aubie Gertenstein.
Sylvia was a first-rate pianist, winning the Winnipeg Music Festival Swedish Club Trophy in 1947. She excelled as an operating room nurse. And she was always happy to feed a crowd of family and friends, especially at so many Mother's Day and Christmas Day brunches.
Sincere thanks to Sylvia's companions, and to the Simkin Centre staff, for their care, support and kindness.
WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MOM. ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
If desired, please make a donation in Sylvia's memory to a charity of your choice.
A graveside service will be held at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on Thursday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. Area 2, Section K, use Gate 3.

Mrs. Lomow was like a second mother to me for years when I was in elementary school. David and I were born almost on the same day, our parents were good friends, and so I had the pleasure of spending many happy times in Sylvia and Eddie's home on Park Blvd. I will always remember her kindness and, at times, exasperation when dealing with a bunch of young boys. She made this world a better place. - Posted by: Steven Rothberg (Quasi-son) on: Sep 08, 2022

Our families and moms were so close when we were growing up. May they ride off into the sunset on the bike paths of Winnipeg! Marnie (Rothberg) Hannah and Patrick Tod - Posted by: Marnie Tod (Rothberg) (Family Friend) on: Sep 08, 2022

Debbie, David and Susan - so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was also so fun and welcoming and loved the Christmas brunch. I’m sure she will be greatly missed. Sending Condolences - Deirdre Egan (friend of Debbie) - Posted by: Deirdre Egan (Friend ) on: Sep 08, 2022
