Alice Moulton passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the age of 83.
Alice was born in Winterton, Newfoundland in 1938. She earned a BA degree from Memorial University in St. Johns, Newfoundland, and devoted her life to teaching children, working for many years as a Teacher-Librarian in Winnipeg, at Lansdowne, Faraday, Cecil Rhodes, and Norquay elementary schools.
Alice married Edward Moulton in Newfoundland in 1960. They were married for 59 years, until Edward's death in 2019. Alice is survived by her brother Gerald Green, her son Ian, her daughter Celia, her daughter-in-law Wendy Williams, and her grandchild Fio.
Alice loved children, gardening, birds, and her pets. She was an avid reader, and she travelled widely. In retirement she and her husband spent winters in Desert Hot Springs, California, where she loved to see the desert wildflowers every Spring.
A memorial service for Alice Moulton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 1G8. Alice had been an active member of Harrow Church since the 1960s.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Osu Children's Library Fund (OCLF) or to Amnesty International.
