February 13, 1948 – September 5, 2022

She flew the skies, tread the roads and sailed the waters of this world, and on September 5, with loved ones by her side and no regrets in her heart, Caren Dundas said a last goodbye and embarked on her final journey.
After she took care of the untidy business of raising her three boys, Caren was finally able to take the time for herself that she so deservedly earned. She filled her calendar with travel, theatre, dinner and drinks with friends. She spent quiet mornings devouring books and the rest of the day devouring life.
She laughed with ease, loved without condition and spoke her mind when she saw the need. She was loved, cherished and appreciated; never said no to a favour asked and rarely asked one in return.
She was 74 years young and her final act came far too soon.
Caren is survived by her children Ryan, Jody (Jennifer), Rob (Sherry); grandchildren Rori, Sierra, Ashleigh, Hunter, Cassidy and Isabella; great-grandchildren Zaiden, Ellie and Ari; and husband Mac. Her care and companionship will be greatly missed by her sister Beverly and her calls by her brothers Allan and Lindsay.
She had many friends that will miss her dearly. Her family would especially like to thank Stuart Allen, Carol Roy and the Crazy 8s for being by her side for the good times and the bad, and Dr. Harris and Dr. Crook for working so hard to ensure there were more good times to be had.
A celebration of Caren's life will be held on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street. Per her wishes, there will be a private interment at the Brookside Cemetery where she will join her granddaughter Tula in eternal rest.

  • My sincere condolences to Ryan, Jody and Rob and also to her grandchildren, siblings and friends. I will miss my travel partner and long time friend. I have good memories of meeting her family in Lynn Lake. We enjoyed camping together at their cabin, joining them and the boys for Christmas in Florida, living at the half way point between Edmonton and Pine Point, NWT where they would always stay overnight on their way to appointments in Edmonton. I will miss you my friend. May you Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Estelle Chabot (Friend) on: Sep 14, 2022

  • So sorry to hear about Caren’s passing. We had many good times at staff parties and good times at work! I will always remember when Mac and Caren and Larry and I curled in the Durban Bonspiel. It took almost 3 weeks to finish due to no artificial ice. Larry and I send our condolences to all the family😢❤️ - Posted by: Pat and Larry Martin (Friends) on: Sep 10, 2022

  • My most sincere condolences to the family. I met Mac and Caren, Ryan, Jody and Rob when we lived in Russell, Manitoba. I will never forget those evenings at their house. We had a lot of fun and Caren was such a great hostess. I reconnected with her in Winnipeg a few years ago. I enjoyed some dinners and movies with her and sometimes with her sister, Bev. Covid put an end to our meetings but I will never forget Caren and her contagious smile. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Claudine Davidson (Friend) on: Sep 10, 2022
