ALICE DAVEY ALLEN
(MACKENZIE)

Alice passed away on September 5, 2022, in Winnipeg. She was born in Prince Edward Island on May 1, 1927, and grew up in Murray Harbour, PEI. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Iva MacKenzie, along with a younger brother.
After working in a number of Canadian cities, Alice settled in Winnipeg in 1964 and worked for 22 years at the Bank of Montreal. During this time, she met the "love of her life", Herb Allen, and they were happily married for more than 40 years. Their life together featured travel, fishing and much love. Alice was a lovely addition to our family and a loving step-parent and grandparent. Herb and Alice's home was always warm and welcoming and their love for each other was always very clear. Alice greatly missed Herb after his death in 2012, but kept a smile on her face and maintained longtime friendships and connections that were very important to her.
Her ashes will be interred beside her husband at a private family ceremony.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Very sorry to hear of Alice’s passing. Knew of her all my life, being as she was one of my cousins but never met until Mom and I traveled to visit with her and Herb at their home in Winnepeg back about “96”… They were both so welcoming it felt as though we’d all known forever… I will think of her and Herb fondly always… Marla - Posted by: Marla J Kelley (Manuel/Davey) (Cousin ) on: Sep 17, 2022

  • Alice was probably the favorite niece of my mother- Teivy Davey Manuel. Mom was very close to Aunt Iva and Uncle Bill and visiting them was a priority when we got to PEI. Our family was always so happy that Alice and Herb made the drive to Maine on several occasions to visit with Mom and spoil us kids. Thank you for being family to Alice - know she spoke appreciatively of your attention. - Posted by: Valerie Manuel Blais (Cousin) on: Sep 17, 2022
