MARY THERA
(DUNS)
It is with great sadness we announce that Mary Thera (Duns) went peacefully to heaven at 4:30 a.m., September 7, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Thera in 2016.
She was born in Kamsack, SK on May 9, 1947. She grew up in Togo, SK.
She met the love of her life Arnold and they were married on October 7, 1967. They moved to Winnipeg and started a family. Mary stayed home to raise the three children.
Once the kids were a little older, she took an outside job. She worked at McDonald's and later moved on to Tache Nursing Center working in Dietary Aide, Activities, then later a Housekeeping Aide. She stayed there until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed bingo, solitaire, her iPad games, puzzles, baking, camping, aggravation, playing cards with friends, and hanging out with her grandkids.
Mary loved to visit, and her face would light up whenever someone would come sit and have a coffee with her.
She was a huge sports fan and really loved watching her Winnipeg Jets and curling games. She also loved watching the Goldeyes.
She leaves to mourn her three children, Dan, Cheryl (Don), Kimberly (Brent), 11 grandchildren, and five great-grand-children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; brother Doug Duns, sister Jean Addis, and sister-in-law Theresa Duns.
At the family's request, a small graveside private ceremony will take place October 7 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to an organization of choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Science Centre for their exceptional care of our mother on floor 5G. Also, to Riverview Health Center for providing mom with exceptional, loving care during her stay with them.
