RUSSELL JACK BROUGHTON
June 13, 1931 September 12, 2022
Sadly, Russ passed away at the Concordia Hospital on September 12, 2022.
After graduating from Gordon Bell High School, he joined MTS in the Plant Department in 1950 as an apprentice. He had a great career with MTS serving 39 years in a variety of departments. He retired as Personnel Manager and Administrative Assistant in the Marketing Department. He participated in many community service projects with the Telephone Pioneers.
After retiring along with good friend Arnie, the two men created a travel club for Telephone Pioneer members, friends, and family, calling it B/S Tours. Russ called these trips adventures because there were a few mishaps along the way. Russ and Arnie were very good at organizing these trips.
He was predeceased by his mother Bunty, his father John and his sister Shirley. The last few years were not the best for health and he tried so hard to stay with us. He will be terribly missed by his bride of 69 years, Yvonne, his daughter Glenda, his son Jeff and his wife Susan, his son Craig and his wife Laura and his two grandsons Brent and Logan. He was so proud of his grandsons knowing what great men they will become.
There will not be a service, only cremation as Russ requested.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
This will be his last Adventure.
