Dad was born and raised on a farm south of St. Norbert. His first real job was with the Grain Commission for 10 years and after that with CNR where he worked till his retirement. Dad loved country living, farming grain, vegetables and doing beekeeping.

At Louis' request cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Timothy's Church, 135 John Forsythe Road and interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 973 Red River Drive; both at future dates to be announced.

  • From this Niziol family, I most remember the parents, Andrew and Josephine, as well as John, Helen, Rose, John's family and of course, Louis. I am Myron Masnyk and through the 1940's to June 1957, my parents and I lived just next door, on Lot 58, in Howden, Manitoba. Louis very first career was that of newspaper delivery boy for the Winnipeg Tribune...or was it the Winnipeg Free Press? Regardless, when Louis retired at the age of 18, he turned the job over to his kid sister, Rose. I recall my waiting most patiently to get the newspaper "funnies", to catch up on the latest adventures of Dick Tracy, Dagwood Bumstead and Kerry Drake. Louis and Rose were always on time...every day...after school. From Mississauga, Ontario, I extend my fondest condolences to Louis' surviving relative. Louis...may you rest in peace. - Posted by: Myron Masnyk (Friend and former neighbour) on: Sep 24, 2022
