Beloved wife of the late Emery Gruninger (1996). Loving mother of Greg (the late Fiona) Gruninger and Kevin Gruninger (Debbie Peters). Sister-in-law of the late Kay Martin, Allan (Nancy) Gruninger, Roy (Edith) Gruninger and Jeanette (Terry) Buchan.
Elaine will be remembered by her selfless attitude, love for family and devotion to God. Elaine's faith was an essential part of her life that comforted her during her struggle with dementia. Her family and friends knew her as a kind soul, always willing to help and give her time to others, whether that involved supporting local craft shows, or volunteering at the church. Known for her ability to turn everything into a poem and her love of a good joke, Elaine's sense of humour will be missed. Now that her struggles are over, we are sure that Elaine is enjoying a cold beer outside with dad.
The family wishes to thank Elaine's many friends, as well as her wonderful healthcare team for their kindness, compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to commemorate Elaine's life may donate in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Elaine was a close friend of mine during the years that we worked together, and I have thought of her often since that time. She was a mentor to me, Elaine worked hard and in pain and never complained; I admired her for it. Some shifts, I swear, she never sat down even once. Her immense love for her family was obvious as she spoke of them often and in great detail. It makes me sad to learn of her passing, but I take solace in knowing that she is no longer having to endure the difficulties of living with dementia. To Elaine, I hope you are now with Emery and that the two of you are having the time of your afterlives. I want you to know that I cherished our friendship and that I still think of you often. Rest In Peace, my friend. - Posted by: Kelly MacAulay (friend) on: Oct 05, 2022
