Susan Lawson Hallenbeck was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Margaret Lawson (nee Cameron) and Stewart Lawson.
Susan married Peter Hallenbeck and together they had two children, Taylor and Graham. She was very active in the Presbyterian Church, finding particular joy and talents in singing and music. She was a lively, happy and generous spirit, full of wonderful stories and many laughs and made friends wherever she went.
Susan is survived by her husband Peter; children, Taylor (Ryan); granddaughter Sophie; Graham (Kristianna) and brothers, Gordon and David (Donna).

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I came to know Susan (and Peter) initially...as Taylor's highly dedicated and enormously supportive parents. More recently...as particularly doting enthusiastic Grandparents to "Sophie", who represents another generation for both the (Susan/Peter) Hallenbeck and Mobberley Families. I had the privilege of seeing/visiting (and bantering) with a smiling laughing uber-congenial Susan and Sophie together on August 26 at the Hallenbeck's Richmond home. A courageous Susan made me feel so very welcome while I excitedly met our precious shared grandchild...for my very first time! I'd already known Susan had played such a significant role as an astute and determined mother...with daughter Taylor following infant trauma, which left Taylor hearing impaired...all the way through to Taylor's recent remarkably difficult to achieve...Doctorate/Ph.D. I am left in respectful awe...that this exceptional woman...denied the cancer pain and agony she had to have been experiencing the day of my own recent visit...all-the-while continuing to put her family (and this particular in-law) first. What a sad but awe-inspiring privilege for me and my Mobberley Family members...to have known and experienced this indomitable woman and life-force.
